Here are some examples of what is available from Sarasota area groups. Fun with Painting Assistant Curator Megan Salazar-Walsh of The Ringling is encouraging arts lovers to join in a worldwide activity to recreate classic paintings with modern photos. Walsh and some of her colleagues have joined in a program that started with a Dutch Instagram account and has been picked up around the world. People are using household objects and clothes they have in their closet to recreate the look of famous and not-so-famous paintings. She said it started as a fun way to pass the time and turned into something meaningful. Once you’ done, share it on social media with the hashtag #tussenkunstenquarantaine. Behind the scenes at Asolo Rep One unexpected benefit of the closures caused by the coronavirus is that patrons are getting to learn more than usual about the operations of some of their favorite arts organizations. Asolo Repertory Theatre launched its #AsoloRepEngage program which is providing some behind-the-scenes videos that look at the artistic and educational aspects of the company.
