In an attempt to break the world record for the number of children breastfeeding at one time, Cape Coral Hospital will host the Global Big Latch On event Friday, Aug. 5 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.
The first Big Latch On took place in New Zealand in 2005, and has grown into a global event. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding exclusively for the first 6 months of life, with continued breastfeeding and appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age, or beyond, as mutually desired by both mother and child.
Cape Coral Hospital is located at 636 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
