Hosafros appointed to Lee County Tourist Development Council

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Lee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) appointed Town of Fort Myers Beach Vice Mayor Rexann Hosafros to the Lee County Tourist Development Council (TDC) at its April 21 meeting.

Hosafros replaces Anita Cereceda, former mayor of Fort Myers Beach, on the TDC and will serve the remainder of the two-year term.

Hosafros has served on the Fort Myers Beach Town Council from 2014 to 2017, and from 2019 to present. She and her husband, Carmine, have been Fort Myers Beach residents since 1999.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Hosafros earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University and law degree from Capital University School of Law. She served as an assistant attorney general for the state of Ohio, family court magistrate in Franklin County, Ohio, and worked on behalf of senior citizens and victims of domestic violence at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus.

She is a volunteer with Friends of the Mound House and Chapel by the Sea. She also chairs the Board of Presbyterian Homes of Lehigh.

The nine-member TDC was established as an advisory board to the BoCC in 1983 to increase off-season tourism in Lee County.
