Keep Lee County Beautiful Record Breaking 30th Annual “GO GREEN” Golf Fundraiser

Submitted By: Tisha Bayne

Fort Myers, FL – Keep Lee County Beautiful, Inc. (KLCB) held its 30th annual “GO GREEN” Golf Fundraiser on October 18th at The Plantation Golf & Country Club. The tournament was sold out with 128 golfers who enjoyed the friendly competition and the fun-filled course contests.

The “GO GREEN” golf tournament, organized by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, is KLCB’s largest fundraiser. The 2019 tournament was the most profitable ever for KLCB with a net profit of just over $35,000! The proceeds will be used to enhance KLCB’s “Classroom in a Box” program. This program offers teachers complete, week-long educational “boxes” for their classrooms. The box contains all of the materials, curriculum (and some even offer field trips) to complete their lessons. Lessons include: Microplastics Testing, Reducing the Carbon Footprint, The Importance of Trees, and more. These educational modules will be offered at no cost to educators and are available on a first come, first serve basis. The hands-on engagement opportunities will reach thousands of Lee County students and help educate them on the importance of protecting our environment.

Keep Lee County Beautiful would like to thank all of the golfers, supporters, and volunteers who made the event possible. Thank you to the presenting sponsor Nextran, VIP sponsors Advanced Disposal and Waste Pro, and other sponsors 3rd Eye, EZ-Pack, Trailers to Trash, Callaghan Tire, Covanta, McNeilus, Toter, Trucks & Parts, Wastequip, Iron Container, Southwest Disposal, Petersen Industries, Truck Pro, All Florida Truck & Equipment, Autocar, Cascade Cart Solutions, Palm Truck Center, Port Consolidated, TruStar Energy, West Coast Custom Cabinetry, Impact Innovates, Big Truck Rental, PRT Lids, Wheeler Bros., Inc., Barraco & Associates, Big Truck Transportation, Lane Insurance, and Sea Gypsy Vacation Rentals.
