Lee County Launches Business Rehire Program

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, Lee County will launch its COVID-19 business assistance program for job creation, named “Business Rehire.”

The “Business Rehire” program will grant funding to small businesses located in Lee County that were deemed “non-essential” and who rehire full-time equivalent (FTE) positions that were in place as of March 1, 2020. Any eligible positions must be rehired on, or after, July 6, 2020.

The grant provides $5,000 per full-time equivalent position rehired, up to $10,000, for businesses with 10 or fewer employees. Or up to $20,000 for larger qualified businesses with fewer than 250 employees. Businesses currently using the Federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds are ineligible. Those businesses who have exhausted their PPP loan proceeds are eligible.

Applications and additional eligibility requirements will be available online at www.LeeFLCares.com or by calling (239) 533-2273.
