At this writing the Season is upon us and with the arrival of some cold fronts and now the stream of returning Winter residents – full steam ahead with Season! This year the Festival of Hanukkah (December 22) and Christmas fall on the same week thus making the Season of Lights all the more special. Hanukkah’s themes of dedication, rededication, the miracle of the lights among others heralds to us all the time for reflection on the past year with the hope of what is in store for us in 2020. The Christian observance of Christmas adds to that reflection for those who believe that Light of the Word lived and lives amongst us. Whatever one believes our community also reflects on the past year and learns from it and is thankful (no hurricanes) and looks forward to a prosperous New Year!
In this month’s Voices I include an article from our newest County Commissioner, Commissioner Ray Sandelli who was appointed by Governor DeSantis to complete the term of Lee County Commission Chairman Larry Kiker who passed away earlier this year. As with Larry Kiker, Ray Sandelli has a strong desire to learn and be apart of our community. I know you will appreciate his article in this month’s Voices and you can expect to see him out and about our community. Give Ray at call at 239-533-2223 or email him at dist3@leegov.com
