Lehigh Community Services Offering Tax Help This Season

Welcome to 2020, Lehigh Community Services would like to wish each of you and your families a year of happiness and good health.
FREE tax preparation is available now at Lehigh Community Services, 201 Plaza Dr. Suite #3.
The VITA program (voluntary income tax assistance) has volunteer preparers certified by the IRS and you can have your taxes prepared FREE if your household income was $66,000 or less in 2019. Appointments are evenings and Saturdays. To schedule please call Lehigh Community Services at (239) 369-5818.
Drop off tax services are also available; save some time with VITA Valet – Individuals can drop off all the documents to file their taxes on Tuesdays between 9 am and 4 pm each week at Lehigh Community Services, the volunteers will prepare the taxes and have them ready for pickup on the following Tuesday. Call for more information. VITA appointments will be available throughout the filing season including April 15, 2019.
VITA processed 988 returns in the Lehigh Acres location last year and had over one million dollars returned to our community for the sixth year in a row.
Lehigh Community Services 9th annual Lobster Fest is right around the corner; Tickets for the event are $65 and include a meal of 1 1/4 lb Maine Lobster, Sirloin Steak or 1/2 Chicken, Creamy Clam Chowder, Maine Steamed Clams, Maine Mussels, Baby Red Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Hard Boiled Eggs, Cole Slow, Rolls, Condiments and Strawberry Shortcake. Save the date for the annual post office food drive, Saturday, May 9. Join thousands in our community by donating non-perishable food items. Your letter carrier will pick up the bag of food from your mail box. The food collected in Lehigh Acres stays in our community and is distributed by local food pantries.
Lehigh Community Services’ food pantry is very busy and we are always looking for donations; canned food items such as vegetables, meat, pasta and beans along with other non-perishable foods and hygiene products are very welcome.
The food pantry is open 3 days a week, Monday and Wednesday from 8:45 am to 11:15 am and Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; first time visitors are asked to bring their photo identification and proof of Lehigh Acres address.
LCS is a 501c3 organization, operating in our 43 rd year. We proudly serve as the United Way House for Lehigh Acres and strive to be the best we can be by honoring our mission: Provide emergency services to residents of the community while promoting self-sufficiency.
