Adult Programs
English Café
6 p.m. Mondays, March 4, 11, 25
Free, informal conversation sessions for adult ESOL/ESL students.
Irish Voices
2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5
Actor Stephen Collins stars in this one-man performance of work by prominent Irish writers, such as Yeats, Joyce, Heaney, McCourt and others. Registration is required.
Coloring for Adults
2 p.m. Tuesdays, March 12, 26
Come and experience the latest trend in relaxation, adult coloring books. Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind and helps promote overall wellness. Coloring pages designed especially for adults, as well as colored pencils, will be provided. Registration is required.
Book Discussion: “In the Hurricane’s Eye” by Nathaniel Philbrick
2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13
Philbrick’s riveting narrative, full of dramatic and unexpected turns, reveals that the fate of the American Revolution depended, in the end, on Washington and the sea. Registration is required.

Did you know you can download books, magazines, music and other library content from our online library? Bring your app-enabled, fully charged e-reader or tablet, and we will show you how to use Libby, Hoopla and other library apps. This is a drop-in program. No registration is required.
David Kilbride Sings Old Favorites

Guitarist David Kilbride plays and sings favorites from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Registration is required.
Who Made the Everglades?
2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26
This talk will explore the geological and cultural history of the Everglades. In particular, we will look at the role of early Native Americans and initial tree island formations. Presented by FPAN. Registration is required.
Master Gardeners: Container Gardening
2 p.m. Thursday, March 28
Learn how you can grow your own single plant or garden, ornamental or edible, in containers, on a back porch, lanai or windowsill. Some hands-on experience will be available for those who wish to participate. Registration is required.
Storytime
Baby Rhyme Time
10 a.m. Monday, March 25
For babies up to 18 months. Please pick up a storytime ticket at the Youth Services desk the morning of the program. Space is limited. During this special storytime, you and your baby will learn new nursery rhymes and fingerplays, interact with puppets, sing, read books and dance.
Toddler Tales
11 a.m. Monday, March 25
For ages 18 to 36 months. Please pick up a storytime ticket at the Youth Services desk the morning of the program. Space is limited. This interactive and active time for toddlers and their caregiver is designed to advance prereading and social skills. They’ll experience storytelling, wordplay, felt board stories, fingerplays, puppets, singing, music making, socializing, dancing and, of course, books.
Family Storytime
10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27
For children up to age 5. Please pick up a storytime ticket at the Youth Services desk the morning of the program. Space is limited. Your whole family is invited to this enjoyable, all-ages storytime that encourages the development of prereading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories.
Preschool Storytime

For ages 3 – 5. Please pick up a storytime ticket at the Youth Services desk the morning of the program. Space is limited. Your preschooler will continue to build relationships with other kids, books, and the library in a storytime designed specifically for them.

Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during the allotted time in the designated area of the library. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only, and applies only to charges on overdue materials.

Make an Impact: Earn Service Hours at Your Library

Get creative. Have fun. Make an impact in your community and earn service hours in the process. Help us put a smile on someone’s face when you jazz up some plain brown paper grocery bags to donate to the Gladiolus Food Pantry. For grades 6-12. All supplies will be provided.
