Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida is excited to be nearing completion of their newest community health center facility, located at 3415 Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. This 3-story, 63,000 square foot building will consolidate the company’s existing Adult Medical, Pediatric, and Dental practices, and will also provide patients with access to the Pharmacy, Optometry, Women’s Health, and Podiatry practices, as well as laboratory services. The center will be open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and welcomes new and established patients, both by appointment and for walk in visits when the schedules permit. Over 60 healthcare professionals will work in the new center, including physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, podiatrists, midwives, and clinical support staff.
Established in 1964, Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida (FHC) is a not for profit, federally qualified health center, whose mission is to provide high quality healthcare, accessible to all people. The caring and competent staff see over 82,000 patients each year, over the course of 281,000 visits. All patients are welcome, and the company accepts most forms of insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. For those patients without insurance, FHC provides a sliding scale discount for self-paying patients.
“We are particularly proud and pleased to be able to bring this new center to the Lehigh community, which has seen such tremendous growth in the past 20 years. It is our firm belief that all people should have access to the best health care possible, regardless of their ability to pay”, says the company’s CEO, Dr. Frank Mazzeo, Jr. By combining the Lehigh offices into one central location, patients can conveniently schedule visits for themselves and their families in the new building. Access to the new Optometry and Podiatry services, as well as extremely discounted prescriptions for patients at the in-house Pharmacy, will help complete the circle of care that is so vital to overall wellness.
The new facility is expected to open by the end of 2019. “This project has been over 10 years in the making”, says Mazzeo. “We have been looking to increase access to care for our patients, and we knew this centrally located site would be a perfect spot”. FHC works closely with Lee Health, the Department of Health, and many other healthcare providers in the area to help ensure a broad range of services in our area. The company operates 31 separate practices in Lee, Charlotte, and Western Hendry Counties.
