“Florida Freakshow” is available on major podcast platforms
Cape Coral, FL (May 6, 2020) – Florida has no shortage of strange news stories, and a new Southwest Florida-based podcast is celebrating Florida’s quirky headlines. Hosted by award-winning former journalists Cory and Kirsten O’Donnell of Cape Coral, the Florida Freakshow podcast shares humorous takes on Florida’s weirdest news.
“When you tell out-of-staters you’re from Florida, they always want to know about some crazy news story they saw online,” explains Cory O’Donnell. “At some point, you just learn to embrace Florida’s weirdness and roll with it.”
The weekly podcast is available on most listening platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and TuneIn Live on Alexa.
The Florida Freakshow concept started more than a decade ago, when the O’Donnells collaborated on a Twitter account with the same name. The couple decided to resurrect the idea as a podcast when both found themselves out of work during the COVID-19 crisis.
“We realized that we weren’t the only people that needed a reason to laugh right now,” says Kirsten O’Donnell. “We’re all away from our friends and family, and watching the news during a pandemic can be pretty grim. We just hope that we can bring a little levity into people’s homes.”
The Florida Freakshow chronicles all that is odd, bizarre, strange, outlandish, peculiar, kooky, quirky, weird, and downright freaky in Florida. Follow the Florida Freakshow on Twitter (@FlaFreakshow) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/flafreakshow) or on the podcast’s website: www.FloridaFreakshow.com.
