Last week the Florida State coaching staff got involved with a new defensive back target when they offered three-star safety Cisco Caston , out of Weatherford, Texas. Caston, who is 6-foot-2 and 195-pounds, is currently committed to Baylor. He committed to the Bears in early March, but that hasn’t stopped other programs from recruiting Caston. “I’ve talked to coach [Marcus] Woodson and coach [Adam] Fuller,” Caston told Noles247. “I haven’t been in touch with them not long at all, barely a week.” Caston is a versatile athlete on and off the football field. He also competes in track, running the 200, long jump and relays. “This offer shows me that I’m still out there to other colleges. I thought the recruiting was gonna slow down, but I guess not. FSU stands out as a school I would like to look at more,” he said. Some of the other programs that Caston has heard from since his commitment to Baylor include – TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma, SMU and FSU. Caston says he’d like to take a couple visits once he’s able to again. “A few of the schools I want to visit are Ole miss, Mississippi State, Florida State and possibly Kansas.” ========================= COMMENTS “Tall, big-framed safety prospect with terrific frame potential. Physical player who thrives coming downhill but also looks at home playing center field. Flashes impressive acceleration in pursuit. Will drop the hammer as a hitter. Size and length aid in catch-point disruption. Can improve ball skills. Needs to show more consistency in tackling technique. Can improve fluidity and short-range lateral mobility. High-ceiling safety prospect who should become reliable Power 5 starter with potential beyond that.”
