New procedure this year for fans lining up for tickets

LEE COUNTY, FL — Tickets for the 2020 Red Sox Spring Training exhibition season go on sale Saturday, December 7, beginning at 10 a.m. at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Lee County, and online at redsox.com

Fans can purchase tickets for all home games at JetBlue Park on December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fenway South Complex and on redsox.com. Fans needing ADA accessible seating or those who may not have a computer may call 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644. Mastercard is the preferred payment of the Boston Red Sox.

For those interested in purchasing tickets in person at JetBlue Park, a new system will be used to better assist those arriving early and to provide priority placement in the ticket sale line.

On Friday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., fans can stop by the ticket office at 11500 Fenway South Drive in Fort Myers to add their name to the priority list. Each person wanting to be placed on the priority list must present a valid photo ID – both at the time of check in and during the on sale day when checking in. Only one name per valid ID will be added to the list. No transfers will be allowed. At 7 p.m., the gates will be closed and no one will be allowed on property. Overnight camping of any kind is prohibited.

On Saturday, December 7 at 6:00 a.m., gates will open with free parking and numbered wristbands will be issued to all fans. Those on the priority list will receive precedence in line using priority wristbands. Fans on the priority list will need to arrive onsite no later than 9:15 a.m., with their photo ID matching the name on the list, to collect their wristband. The priority line will close at 9:15 a.m. and anyone on the list that has not checked in will forfeit their position and be placed at the end of the general line from that point on during the day.

Fans not on the priority list are welcomed to wait in a separate line on Saturday morning starting at 6:00 a.m.  This line will form behind the priority line.

Ticket limits can vary based on demand and can be changed at any time at the discretion of management.

The team will play a total of 18 home games, including 17 Grapefruit League games and a game against the Northeastern University Huskies. Red Sox Spring Training is presented by CVS Health.

The Red Sox’ equipment truck will depart from Fenway Park on Monday, February 3. Truck Day is presented by JetBlue.

Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to hold their first workouts on February 12 and position players are scheduled to hold their first workouts on February 17.  Workouts are free and open to the public.

The club will once again hold an Open House at JetBlue Park on Saturday, February 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event, open to the public, welcomes fans to walk around the park and the grounds, while enjoying concessions and entertainment on Fenway South Drive – a street festival inspired by Jersey Street in Boston.

The 2020 season is the Red Sox’ ninth at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.  All day games are scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. Only one night game is scheduled for March 21 at 6:05 p.m. when the Red Sox host the Baltimore Orioles.
