FORT MYERS, FL – Discover Bogginfin Farm, a hidden gem for horse enthusiasts tucked away just outside of Gateway.
There is something grand happening at Bogginfin Farm, located off Rod and Gun Club Road on the edge of Wild Turkey Strand Preserve. The state of the art equine facility features 30 acres of large grass pastures, 23-stall horse barn, covered wash racks, an air-conditioned tack room and multiple riding jumping arenas.
Bogginfin Farm is raising the modern equestrian landscape right here in our backyard, just outside of Gateway. The farm exudes rustic chic charm with the help of antiques, chandeliers, and rustic décor from friends and patrons. Bogginfin isn’t all about aesthetic, the facility operates under one premise, “Ni Neart Gan Stro,” an old Irish phrase that defines the world of competition and translates to “Success Through Effort.” Every aspect of the farm, from upkeep to horse care and especially customer service operates under the notion that hard work is the key to greater accomplishments.
Owners Sean Hynes and Cat Hynes opened the facility in 2013, and have expanded their lesson program to include two additional trainers. The husband and wife team have built a community and family around the property, and even recently completed their home on site with the purpose of overseeing all the activities on the farm.
Cat graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Animal Science Equine Industry. Her passion for horses blossomed when she began riding at just 7 years old and developed further as she explored her educational opportunities. Sean is a transplant from Ireland with a passion for business. The farm is named after the stretch of land that Sean grew up on in Ireland, and where his family resides today.
Bogginfin operates as an educational facility as well as a private boarding center. Specializing in Equitation, Jumpers, Hunter, and Dressage, Sean and Cat welcome individuals of all skill levels to schedule a tour, join their community of horse enthusiasts and hone your skills or learn to ride. The current clientele at Bogginfin includes people of all ages, including children and teenagers. Many young people with a passion for equestrian sports experience great success from their training at the farm.
A student was recently accepted into The Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program, created to provide opportunities for young riders to advance their horsemanship education and riding skills, and another pupil was featured in US Equestrian Magazine’s “Horse of the Year” awards issue.
The facility is currently operating their annual summer camp program for children and teens. Bogginfin Farms’ 2019 summer camp is open to children aged 3-17. The week-by-week program includes age appropriate activities like painting, arts and crafts, and riding instruction for individuals of all skill levels.
Apart from training and education, Bogginfin is also distinguished by their dedication eco-friendly initiatives including the use of CWD brand products that are made of vegetal-tanned leather, eco-design saddle packaging, and repurposed plastic products. The farm also carries grooming solutions from Shapleys, Enviro Equine, and Coat Defense that are chock-full of naturally sourced ingredients.
