COVID-19 has been devastating for families in East Lee as it has for millions of people around the globe. Jobs have been terminated, businesses have closed, and lives have been lost. The result has been homelessness and hunger. Residents are scared and struggling to feed their families.
For many, Blessings in a Backpack of Southwest Florida has truly been a blessing, even prior to this deadly pandemic. The organization now feeds more than 5,000 students throughout Southwest Florida every weekend during the school year who would otherwise go without.
Due to the crisis at hand, the need is far greater. Blessings in a Backpack is in need of your help to be able to continue to feed the hundreds of students at three Lehigh Acres schools: Mirror Lakes Elementary, Veteran’s Park Academy and Lehigh Middle.
Your generous support of just $115 will feed a child on the weekends for an ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR. That’s less than $12 a month. With your help, and the help of donors like you, we can continue feeding these kids on the weekends, providing a sense of normalcy during abnormal times. Your continued support helps create lasting memories for families across the Lehigh Acres community and all of Southwest Florida.
Additional donations are needed to help feed hundreds more school children on waiting lists at two other Lehigh Acres’ elementary schools.
Please help feed the children in Lehigh Acres by taking a minute to go to their website:
