The battle is on! On September 10, firefighters from across Southwest Florida will have their heads shaved by Golisano Children’s Hospital patients battling cancer, all while engaging in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds for the cause. Engineer Maury Morejon will be representing the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District. This is his 4th year participating in the event. “I feel honored to represent the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District and participate for the fourth year in the 4th Annual Clips for Cancer event,” states Engineer Morejon. “To have the opportunity to be part of the overwhelming support this event brings is truly an amazing experience.”
Leading up to the event, the Lee Health Foundation will share stories of our local heroes’ cancer journeys as well as why the “Shavees” are having their heads shaved in support of pediatric cancer awareness month and Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital’s Cancer Fund.
Donations to Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund will make a difference in the life of a child with cancer or a blood disorder. We are hoping our involvement will support their mission to fund programs, services, equipment, and the best in medical care for the children of our community so no child will have to leave home for treatment.
