The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District is holding a holiday food drive to benefit local families in our community. All donations collected will be delivered to Lehigh Community Services in time to help families keep food on their tables during the holiday season. Collection boxes are in the lobbies of all our fire stations to make dropping off a donation easy. The District will be collecting donations beginning today, October 12, through Wednesday, November 15.
Lehigh Community Services has served the Lehigh Acres Community for over 46 years. Last year, they provided Thanksgiving meal items to over 400 families. Non-perishable food items such as stuffing, canned vegetables, boxed mashed potatoes, gravy mix, biscuit or muffin mix, and dessert mixes are most requested; but any donation is appreciated. In lieu of frozen turkeys, a $10 gift card to a local grocery store is a great option! Hygiene and pet supplies are also high-need items (this is a great time to clean out that stockpile of travel-size bottles).
Whatever you give, it will have an impact on our Lehigh Acres community. Thank you for your support!
