Richard Allen Anglickis, 81, passed away on 9/4/24 in Lehigh Acres, Florida
He was the President of The Heritage Group and lived in Lehigh Acres since 1962. He was involved in many projects and activities in Lehigh Acres and Lee County.
He was born In Cicero (Chicago) Illinois on November 18, 1942 to Stanley J. Anglickis and Aldona (Venckus) Anglickis (Lithuanian Heritage). He has two sisters, Cecelia (George) Rudar of California and Carol J. Tucker of Lehigh Acres, along with many Rudar nephews (Tom, Mike (Michelle), Matt, and Marcus Rudar; Hayden Bryant) and nieces Angela Renzi (Augustus), Dayna Tucker (deceased), Paula Roman (Michael), Carol Bryant (deceased) Savannah Bryant, as well as Great Nephews Nicholas, Dustin and Corey Rudar and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann (Seidel) Anglickis, and his daughter Robyn Anndria Rocco (Anthony) and grandson Aidan Louis Rocco, who will miss his warm hugs, smiles and encouragement. His daughter was his pride and joy, and he watched her achieve the Olympic Trials in swimming at age 16. He and his wife Ruth met at York Community High School in Elmhurst, Illinois and were Homecoming King and Queen, graduating in 1961 and married on December 30, 1963.
Ruth moved from Elmhurst to be near her parents in 1962 and Rick followed her later that year after attending Loyola University in Chicago on an athletic scholarship. While in high school, he played football and track in high school and in college he ran track (50,100,220) and hurdles. His den is filled with trophies and for the many things he accomplished during his lifetime. He coached Little League, Babe Ruth League, and many other youth sports.
Rick was raised Catholic and became a member of New Life Assembly of God in Lehigh Acres.
As a Realtor and Builder (American Heritage Realty/Building Company) he built many hundreds of homes in Lehigh Acres, “Where a Handshake Means a Lasting Friendship,” He also sold hundreds of lots to people all over the US who then built their home here. When he moved to Lehigh Acres there were around 900 people and the “City in the Making” is now over 140,000.
Rick, as a young man, was active with the U.S. Jaycees and served as Florida President and Lt. Governor. He traveled all over the United States as a motivational speaker serving Jaycees to belong to this young man’s training organization and organized many charitable contributions to various communities across or Nation. At 35 Jaycees become “exhausted Roosters” so he then joined the Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club and was an active member until his death. Kiwanis motto is to serve one child and one community at a time. The Club has given thousands upon thousands of college scholarships to local Lehigh Acres schools. He served as their President several times and was on their Board. One of his favorites was Lehigh Senior High School (home of the Lightning) where his daughter graduated and other kids he adopted along the way.
Rick loved God and Jesus. He believed in the following Jaycee Creed and encouraged thousands of young people to follow the teachings of Christ.
“We believe that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of Nations; that economic justice can best be won by free men and free enterprise; that government should be of men rather than of laws; that Earths greatest strength lies of human personality, and THAT SERVICE TO HUMANITY IS THE BEST WORK OF LIFE.”
He was larger than life. He was loved. He will be remembered as a giver of himself.
He left this world and Jesus carried him to heaven after suffering much pain for many years. He would want you to remember the following:
DO ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN
BY ALL THE MEANS YOU CAN
IN ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN
AT ALL THE TIMES YOU CAN
TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CAN
AS LONG AS YOU CAN
THE REAL PURPOSE OF OUR EXISTENCE IS NOT TO MAKE A LIVING, BUT TO MAKE A LIFE – A WORTHY, WELL ROUNDED, USEFUL LIFE. NEVER GIVE UP
