On November 16th, the Arts of the Inland Gallery hosted its Fall Art Gala Reception at the historic Christie House, built in 1914 and located next to Barron Park at 471 Lee Street in Labelle. The well-attended event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent of our local artists.
The evening featured entertainment from The Firehouse Singers of the Firehouse Theatre, alongside a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres served on the lawn. Attendees enjoyed the beautiful performances as they viewed the artwork exhibited this month at the gallery. Our 2024 Fall Gala Reception show winners include Best of Show: Cattle at River Crossing (Ink drawing) by Joe Johnson, 1st Place: Day is Done (Photo) by James Kennedy, 2nd Place: Mother: Gift From God, (Pencil drawing) by Marcelina Seda, and 3rd Place: Struttin’ Rooster, (Fabric Collage) by Sherrie Elliott. The Honorable Mention Award went to Stella Luckey for An Irish Breakfast (Watercolor).
The November exhibition showcases a spectacular array of artistic masterpieces that span various mediums and styles. A silent auction held as part of the show allowed patrons to bid on and acquire artworks, including a print of Joe Johnson’s “Wild Cattle, River Crossing”, offering a first-time opportunity to own a piece from this popular local artist.
The Arts of the Inland Gallery is open from 1pm to 5 pm, Thursday through Sunday. The gallery houses a diverse collection of artworks, and we invite art enthusiasts, collectors, and curious minds to explore the local art we have to share. We hope to engage more community members with the arts.
The gallery is operated by the non-profit group Arts of the Inland, with members hailing from various communities in the region, including Clewiston, Labelle, Moore Haven, Immokalee, Riverdale, Lehigh, and Alva. Our board and members help in running the gallery.
Throughout the year, we organize several fundraisers and events. Our recent dessert auction was a great success!
