(LA-MSID) Announces Strict  Enforcement and Towing of Vehicles Illegally Parked in Right-of-Way

lehigh

Mowing season for LA-MSID’s canals and lakes starts May 4th. To  ensure the safe passageway of District vehicles and private pedestrians, LA-MSID has announced  vehicles parked illegally on public rights-of-way along canals and lakes, will receive a notice on  the vehicle or encroachment that you have 24 hours to move. If not moved within 24 hours,  vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense. Other encroachments may be moved via a  different method.

LA-MSID’s existing Right-of-Way Policy, prohibits permanent and temporary parking on District  rights-of-way, as these areas are maintained for drainage, access, safety, and environmental  purposes. Encroachments like unauthorized parking can block maintenance, create hazards, or  damage infrastructure.

What Residents Can Do:

  • Check any vehicles (including those of guests, contractors, or work vehicles) parked along  easements, canals, or other District-managed rights-of-ways.
  • Move them promptly to avoid towing.   Contact LA-MSID directly at 239-368-0044 for questions about specific locations, or to  confirm if a spot is considered a right-of-way.
