A construction contract has been awarded to build a skate park in Schandler Hall Community Park, 419 Royal Palm Park Road.
This project will develop a skate park on the existing multi-use field to address the public requests for a dedicated skate facility in the central areas of Lee County. Lee County also operates a skate park at Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres.
The project will install skate features and obstacles to create a safe, designated space for skateboarders, enhancing the park’s functionality and overall community value.
Schandler Hall Community Park, serving the Tice and Fort Myers Shores neighborhoods, is an 11.2-acre facility that also includes a community center, playground, tennis courts, covered basketball courts and sand volleyball court.
The $589,088 contract was awarded to Select Development Group LLC and will be funded through Community Park Impact Fees. Work is expected to begin this summer and be completed next spring.
