FORT MYERS, FL. (April 10, 2023) –
Community Cooperative has announced a new location for Empty Bowls fundraiser. The event originally held at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers and will now take place at Alliance for the Arts on April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will be presented by Florida Power & Light.
“Due to damage sustained by Hurricane Ian to our beautiful downtown, the Empty Bowls event is being relocated to Alliance for the Arts. While best laid plans for repairs and restoration at Centennial Park will not meet the timeline we needed for this annual festival, we cherish the support we receive from the City of Fort Myers and look forward to the day when the park is returned to its former glory.”
says Chief Executive Officer Stefanie Ink-Edwards.
The event will feature fun family activities, food trucks, and performances by Lee County school children. Admission to the event is FREE for kids and $10.00 for adults 18 years and older. Includes a soup tasting and a unique handcrafted ceramic bowl made by Lee County students.
All proceeds will benefit Community Cooperative’s emergency food programs including:
Meals on Wheels, Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen, and Mobile Food Pantries.
