Next month’s roster of activities at Riverdale Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:
Adult Programs
Spanish Conversation Club
6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 9, 16
Are you ready to take your Spanish-speaking skills to the next level? Improve your fluency by chatting with other adults. Join us as we practice speaking Spanish with others on a variety of topics. Intermediate to advanced Spanish-speaking skills are recommended to get the most out of the session. Registration is required.
Knit and Stitch
1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 17
A casual, self-guided group for knitting, crochet and other needle arts. Join in to share projects, ideas and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring their own projects and tools. Basic materials and supplies are available for newcomers.
Book Discussion: “Buckeye” by Patrick Ryan

In Bonhomie, Ohio, a stolen moment of passion, sparked in the exuberant aftermath of the Allied victory in Europe, binds Cal Jenkins, a man wounded not in war but by his inability to serve in it, to Margaret Salt, a woman trying to obscure her past. Gift Wrapping Party

Need some space from prying eyes to get your presents wrapped in time? We’ve got your back. Enjoy holiday music while you wrap your gifts and make new friends. All supplies will be provided including wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, tape and scissors.
Children’s Programs
Read, Play and Grow with Healthy Start
10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5
Sponsored by Healthy Start of SWFL, free developmental screenings will be offered for children through age 5 years. Children can participate in games and activities that help them learn and grow while parents receive helpful resources for activities they can do at home with their children.
Shrinky Dink Keyring
Noon – 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6
Design and color a custom Shrinky Dink keyring. All supplies will be provided. Drop in any time Noon – 2 p.m.
Puppet Play
10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12
Preschool children and caregivers can explore the elements of early literacy using puppets. Encourage imagination, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development and comprehension in a fun and engaging environment.
Music & Movement for the Holidays
10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19
This holiday themed preschool music and movement program invites you to sing, chant, play instruments and dance while exploring sounds, rhythms and patterns that make up our language.
Teen Programs
Anime Hour
2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2
Enjoy an hour of anime entertainment, creative expression and lively discussions. This program is specially curated for anime enthusiasts to indulge in their passion for Japanese animation while hanging out among like-minded peers. Snacks provided and cosplay encouraged. For teens ages 12-18 years.
