The first quarter of the New Year will see the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Gala with new additions to the program.
THE SHINING STARS AWARDS
In addition to honoring our area teachers as our community’s shining stars, the Chamber also honors our firefighters/EMS personnel as well as member so law enforcement of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. We are expanding those awards to include our medical professionals of our hospital systems and from the healthcare community. Many of them are now members of the Chamber. This pandemic has highlighted their valuable and heroic service to all of us in the communities that they serve. Stay tuned for details on this exciting event.
CONGRATULATIONS TO COMMISSIONER CECIL PENDERGRASS!
Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass was recently installed as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners and will serve as Chair for 2022. Cecil is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber. Commissioner Pendergrass is well known in our community, and we wish him the best for the coming year.
LIVING WITH OMICRON AND COVID VARIANTS
The Chamber will continue as a resource to our business members and the public for useful information as well as programs being developed for area businesses with federal pass-through dollars. Stay tuned to www.elccoc.org
THIS MONTH’S ARTICLES
This year the Florida Legislature will begin its annual session in January and should last for 60 days. Representative Spencer Roach provides an article regarding childcare expense relief for foster parents. Our community has many families that have opened their homes for foster children. It is selfless and loving work. Please give Spencer’s office a call to share your thoughts.
Lee County Commissioner Brian Hamman offers our community New Year’s Greetings and outlines some of the work that Lee County Government is doing in our community. Brian is no stranger to Lehigh/East Lee. Give his office a call at 239-533-2226 or dist4@leegov.com
