New solution centralizes resident requests and communication for improved response
The City of Fort Myers has partnered with CivicPlus, a public sector technology company, to implement FixMyFort, a new online system that allows residents to submit and track service requests related to infrastructure issues.
Built on a technology platform known as software-as-a-service (SaaS), FixMyFort allows the city to ensure all service requests are tracked, managed and resolved in one place, enhancing service efficiency and transparency throughout the community. FixMyFort enables residents to report issues on the go, track progress and receive real-time updates from the respective departments handling the request.
“We’re thrilled to launch this new feature for citizens to easily and quickly submit requests that help city staff address and resolve any issues in a proficient, transparent manner,” said John Lege, assistant city manager. “Residents can simply take a photo of a pothole, submit it with the location and be notified when it’s fixed.”
The free mobile application, FixMyFort, can be downloaded to iOS or Android devices. Requests can also be submitted on the city website, fortmyers.gov, by clicking “Report A Concern” on the home page.
CivicPlus Vice President of Product Management Aaron Pierce said, “CivicPlus is committed to providing local governments with innovative solutions, and we’re proud to partner with the City of Fort Myers. By empowering residents to report issues directly from their device of preference, it’s easier for leaders to address community needs effectively, build resident relationships and boost operational performance.”
