Lee County Mosquito Control District (LCMCD) will host a free Tire Drop-Off Event on Friday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its facility located at 15191 Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres.

The event is designed to help reduce mosquito breeding grounds and protect public health. Discarded tires are one of the most common places for mosquitoes to breed, creating standing water that can contribute to the spread of mosquito-borne viruses.

Lee County residents are encouraged to participate by dropping off up to eight car tires per household at no cost. This service is available exclusively to residents and aims to provide a safe, convenient way to dispose of unwanted tires while supporting countywide mosquito control efforts.

“Proper tire disposal plays a critical role in reducing mosquito populations,” said representatives from Lee County Mosquito Control District. “By removing these breeding sites, residents help protect their families and neighborhoods from potential health risks.”

For more information about the tire drop-off event or mosquito control services, residents can visit LCMCD.org or call (239) 478-8298.
