lcec - elcn

LCEC will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Sanibel Service Center, on Monday, November 3 at 9:00 a.m., located at 5050 Sanibel Captiva Road. The new facility represents an investment in LCEC infrastructure to better serve the Sanibel and Captiva communities with enhanced reliability, storm resiliency, and operational efficiency.

LCEC leadership, community members, and local officials, including LCEC CEO, LCEC Trustee Representative, City of Sanibel Mayor, the Sanibel Chamber President, and City Manager, will share information about the importance of this project for the future of the islands.

The new service center will serve as a hub for daily operations and storm response, ensuring resources and personnel are positioned on the island to enhance meeting member needs. Built with storm-hardened design, the facility will provide office space, equipment storage, and staging areas for emergency restoration efforts.

The Sanibel-Captiva Service Center is expected to be completed December 2026. Through these efforts, LCEC is reinforcing its commitment to meeting current and future energy needs while maintaining high standards of reliability and operational efficiency.
