Lehigh Acres 2nd Annual 4th of July Freedom Fest

By Amanda Mitrani

At Victory, there’s always something to do, eat, and explore. Victory Town Center encompasses close to 12 acres of land right in the heart of Lehigh Acres. Located between the two main roadways of our town, Lee Blvd. and Homestead Road, Victory Town Center is easily accessible to all the residents of Lehigh Acres.

This Independence Day, Victory Town Center is inviting you to Lehigh Acres to celebrate its 2nd Annual 4th of July Freedom Fest, supported by Victory Church and the Southwest Florida Business Alliance-East Lee Chapter.

The celebration will take place at 1201 Taylor Lane Ext, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 (behind the Burger King) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is free for all to attend! This fun-tastic event includes live music, food, entertainment, and the star of the show: the patriotic fireworks display. The whole community can come together at this special celebration and show their American pride.

Starting at 6 p.m at the Center Stage, you can watch or compete in Lehigh Acres’ first-ever Chili-Dog Eating Competition. 20 competitors will have 10 minutes to eat as many chili dogs as they can. The three top eaters will be awarded prizes. The entry fee is $20 for adults and $10 for kids.

Looking for something sweeter? Participate in another first! The Perkins Patriotic Pie Eating Contest starts at 7 p.m. at the Center Stage. Competitors will ‘enjoy’ as many Perkins fruit and cream pies as possible in just 5 minutes. Awards will be given to our first, second, and third place winners by our local celebrity judges. It’s $20 to enter for adults and $10 for kids (only one person per family is allowed to enter). Only 16 competitors per class, so send your hungriest competitor!

Enjoy a special appearance from our local heroes: the Lehigh Acres Fire Department. Get to know those who risk their lives for our community.

This special 4th of July event is bound to be the perfect place to spend your Independence Day with your family. Sponsorship Opportunities and display/space information are also available to those who want to help out the community at this event.
