Midwest Food Bank Florida hosted its highly anticipated 2025 Winter Harvest Dinner & Live Auction on Saturday, February 22, at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center. The event successfully raised over $250,000 to support the organization’s mission of providing food and resources to more than 230 partner agencies throughout Florida.

The evening began with a stirring performance of the National Anthem by Mary Kitchen, accompanied by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard. Guests were also treated to special music by Will and Mary Kitchen, setting the tone for a night of generosity and community impact. Midwest Food Bank Florida’s Executive Director, John McKinnon, delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the critical work being done to alleviate food insecurity across the state.

The highlight of the evening was the live auction, where attendees rallied together to raise vital funds in support of Midwest Food Bank’s programs. Through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and attendees, the event exceeded expectations, furthering the organization’s ability to serve individuals and families in need. The success of the 2025 Winter Harvest Dinner & Live Auction was made possible in part by the generous support of Title Sponsor Dr. Carol Rae Culliton and the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation. Their commitment to fighting hunger and strengthening communities played a significant role in the evening’s achievements.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this extraordinary night – from our sponsors and donors to our dedicated volunteers and staff,” said John McKinnon, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank Florida. “The funds raised will make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity, ensuring that we can continue to provide hope and nourishment to families in need.”

Midwest Food Bank Florida extends its heartfelt appreciation to all who attended and supported the event. Their generosity and compassion are instrumental in the fight against hunger.
