Planetarium Grand Reopening

By: Kalyn Lady | Bloody Bride of the Haunted Hike

Friday, September 27th, the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium held an official ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by our Executive Director, Eric Raddatz, for the Grand Reopening of our Planetarium followed by short screenings throughout the day with an exclusive filming inside the dome for VIP guests and patrons of our non-profit.

Starting the first weekend in October, Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium will be holding its 61st Annual Haunted Walk organized by Todd Sherman. Todd has been the organizer of the Haunted Walk for a number of years and always makes sure the event is spooktastic! Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. All proceeds of the Haunted Walk will go towards paying off the Planetarium’s renovation and taking care of the special animal residents living at Calusa Nature Center. The Haunted Walk starts at 7:30 pm and is available to enter every half hour until 10:30 pm every weekend in October. We encourage visitors to donate any old Christmas lights they no longer need so that Todd may get to work creating a dazzling Holiday Lights event this coming December! Holiday Lights will be available every weekend in December just as the Haunted Walk is every weekend in October.
