Scholarship Fundraiser

Submitted By: Charlene Golden

The Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres provides scholarships for Lehigh Acres students. Last year over $20,000 was given to students to attend college and technical schools. Along with the Kiwanis Thrift Store at 15 Homestead Road South, two golf tournaments are held each year to raise these funds.

April 23rd is the Orange Ball Classic at the Majestic Golf Club. Twenty-four foursomes will participate in this golf scramble. Tournament entry fees are $260 for a foursome which includes golf, snacks, lunch and prizes. Single player is $70 and includes golf, snacks, lunch and prizes. Majestic Golf Club members are $55 and include golf, snacks, lunch and prizes. One hole sign is $50, two hole signs are $75 and extra lunch tickets are $25.

Along with golfers, sponsors are needed for the tournament, scramble, and scholarships. Sure we are playing golf and having fun but more importantly, we are providing the funding to fulfill a student’s dream of attending college, learning a trade, and securing an education. The brochure with the sign up forms for golfers and sponsors is available on our website at or at the Kiwanis Thrift Store in Lehigh Acres. You can also call Rick Anglickis at 239-851-8901 for more information.

The five levels of tournament sponsors, from $1000 to $300, receive a foursome entry along with signage at the check-in, on the course, and at the awards luncheon. Special “thank you” advertisement will be placed locally the week after the tournament and will be on our website.

There are two sponsor spots for the food in the morning and snacks on the course at the turn for $200 each. These do not include golf but will receive the same advertisement as our tournament sponsors.

There are several Scramble Sponsor opportunities for $100 for each event, activity or contest on the golf course. They do not include golf. There will be special signs at the location of the activity and recognition at the luncheon. You will be included in the special “thank you” advertisement after the tournament.

New this year are Scholarship Sponsors. Golf is not included but donors will be able to name the scholarship and specify a major if they want. You will be invited to attend the June Scholarship Award Banquet, sit with your recipient and have a photo taken. You may also attend and be recognized at the tournament luncheon. Scholarship donors will be recognized with special golf signage, appropriate recognition in our printed materials and publications, as well as being featured in a special section on our website. Your contribution will be matched by the Kiwanis Foundation and the recipient will be presented with the full amount. Donations range from $2,500 to $500.

Details on the tournament entry fees, tournament sponsors, scramble sponsors and scholarship sponsors are available at along with the player entry form and sponsorship form.

Chartered in April 1968, Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres is among the oldest civic organizations in Lehigh Acres today. The members are working and retired men and women striving to make this world and our community a better place for today and tomorrow. The club has provided $250,000 in funds to schools, youth sports organizations, local charities, those in need in our community, and of course our HUGE scholarship program.
