Senator Kathleen Passidomo and Senator Johnathan Martin greeted constituents and county leaders at the annual pre-session luncheon at Plantation Golf and Tennis Club Monday, December 18th. Senator Passidomo talked about the Live Local and Live Healthy initiatives that address affordable workforce housing and initiatives to attract and retain healthcare providers and train them locally. There is a substantial amount of work happening now on addressing mental health concerns and people experiencing homelessness. She spoke about upcoming agenda items relating to deregulating public schools to make them easier to function. Senator Martin talked about cracking down on casino arcades and massage parlors that are not following the law or are illegal. Senator Martin has 70 bills drafted and 10 filed. He urged everyone to keep up with the Senate website and let him know personally if something in a bill is going to affect how they work, live, or play.
