Under the glimmer of Hollywood lights and the heartfelt theme “Be a STAR for Special Equestrians,” the 2025 Taste of Love fundraiser dazzled guests with a night to remember, raising an astonishing $300,856.88 in support of Special Equestrians, Inc. Held on March 23 at The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon, this wine and food extravaganza brought together community leaders, culinary masters, and generous patrons to celebrate resilience, honor outstanding individuals, and support equine-assisted activities and therapies for children and adults with disabilities across Southwest Florida.

The evening spotlighted this year’s TOL Ambassador, Sarah Gould, whose story touched every heart in the room. Sarah’s twin sister, Trish, delivered a powerful speech reflecting Sarah’s journey with Special Equestrians and the profound impact therapeutic riding has had on her confidence, motor skills, and emotional well-being—especially following the unexpected passing of their father in 2023.

The event also marked a poignant milestone with the announcement of the retirement of Special Equestrians’ founder, lead instructor, and beloved leader, Daryle “Dee” Hollander. Dee, whose vision in 1987 gave life to the organization, was honored for her decades of service and unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing and empowering environment for riders and families. While Dee transitions into a new role on the Stable Committee, her legacy lives on—her saddle always ready and a chair reserved in the viewing area, reminding all that her spirit will forever be part of the arena.

Guests indulged in gourmet offerings from over a dozen of the area’s finest culinary talents, enjoyed auctions, and showed up in full Hollywood glam, all while supporting the ongoing mission of Special Equestrians. Every dollar raised will fund vital services including rider scholarships, herd management, equipment maintenance, facility upgrades, and therapeutic programming. From veterinarian care to arena maintenance and beyond, the generosity of the community ensures that no participant is turned away due to financial limitations.

“We are beyond blessed by the giving hearts that uphold our mission,” said Dana Hollenzer, Executive Director. “Our community continues to show up, year after year, to make miracles happen.”

Save the date! Taste of Love 2026 returns on March 22, 2026, once again at The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon.
