Alliance for the Arts Funding

In a devastating blow to the arts community, all state funding for the arts have been vetoed, slashing $32 million. This decision will significantly impact the Alliance for the Arts, which was relying on this funding to provide affordable tickets and free programming to the community. In response, the Alliance for the Arts announces its “Art Is Essential” campaign to overcome this loss.

Art Impacts Community – Art is Essential

Art enriches lives by stimulating creativity, encouraging critical thinking, and expressing cultural narratives. The Alliance offers free and affordable programs like the Free Family Art Lab and accessible summer camps, serving underserved communities. The Alliance summer camp is the most accessible in Lee County with 26% of campers on scholarship.

“Arts education is vital for personal and educational development,” says Molly Rowan-Deckart, Executive Director of the Alliance for the Arts. “Community support is needed to navigate this crisis, or we will be forced to cut essential programs.”

Setting up a recurring donation ensures ongoing support for the arts. Donors contributing $100 or more will be recognized on the “Art is Essential” window graphic along with many other perks for contributing, like an exclusive invite to the donor party and special merchandise. Consider a tax-deductible donation today!

Join us in preserving the arts and ensuring our community thrives through creativity and cultural enrichment. The veto by Governor DeSantis will have a devastating impact on the Alliance for the Arts. Still recovering from COVID-19 and Hurricane Ian, the Alliance was expecting this state funding, which is crucial for making the arts accessible. Support the Alliance for the Arts by attending events, becoming a member, sponsoring an event, or making a donation. Your support is essential now more than ever.
