The City of Fort Myers announces the new 10-trip garage parking pass and extension to the free after 5 p.m. on-street parking in downtown Fort Myers.

In partnership with Denison Parking and HONK Mobile, the City of Fort Myers is offering a new, flexible parking option. The $41 10-trip pass through HONK mobile allows residents and visitors to purchase a mobile-friendly parking pass for City of Palms Garage and Main Street Garage.

“It’s cost-effective, simple to use, and after entry, each session can last up to 30 hours, which is ideal for residents frequenting downtown and vacationers who want to park like a local,” said Chris Tenney, Director of Financial Services for the City of Fort Myers. “The monies generated from paid parking are used to fund the operations and maintenance of the garages, related equipment, on-street parking program, debt repayments, capital improvements, and possible funding towards a new garage.”

At the Aug. 5 Fort Myers City Council Meeting, councilmembers voted to extend the free on-street parking after 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday through Sept. 30, 2024. Intended to end with the reopening of the Caloosahatchee Bridge, City officials encourage residents and visitors to visit downtown Fort Myers during the off-season to help support businesses. Digital signage on the parking kiosks informs users that no payment is required after 5 p.m. As usual, on-street parking is free all day on Sundays and holidays excluding parking garages.

The free parking after 5 p.m. is only for parking lots that are owned and operated by the City of Fort Myers. The Lee County lots, including between Main Street and Hendry Street, are not participating.
