Fort Myers Rotary Clubs Donate Over $20k To Midwest Food Bank-Florida

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, Dec 29, 2020 – In a great community effort, several Fort Myers Rotary groups joined together to raise money for the local Midwest Food Bank, Florida division.

During the recent check presentation at the Fort Myers Sunrise Rotary location, District 6960 presented MFB Executive Director Karl Steidinger with the raised donation of $12, 989.00. This donation will be used to purchase a new refrigeration unit for a transportation truck. Midwest
Food Bank–Florida sources food nationwide, that would otherwise go to waste. Ensuring proper refrigeration efficiencies is a vital component in the procurement, and distribution process for this food relief non-for profit. Additionally, Fort Myers Sunrise Rotary donated another $10,800 to help cover the cost of the recent 1,100 holiday foods boxes donated at a local food and toy distribution event.

As a dedicated rotary member, and experienced nonprofit Director, Karl says he “fully understands the importance of community collaboration in all local endeavors. Working together, to help, and share a dedicated mission is a core value of MFB Florida.”
