LCEC Celebrates National Lineworker Appreciation Day on July 10

Lineworker day

LCEC applauds, honors, and sincerely thanks our incredible lineworkers for the hard work they do and the passion they demonstrate each and every day. Whether you are one of the more than 240,000 LCEC members or not, July 10 is the perfect day to #thankalineworker. A smile and a wave means the world to these humble heroes.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA), and LCEC join together to salute the nation’s electrical lineworkers on July 10 for National Lineworker Appreciation Day. This special day commemorates the legacy and contributions of the inaugural IBEW president, Henry Miller.

July 10 serves as a reminder of the dangerous work lineworkers face every day. Lineworkers are highly skilled essential workers who work tirelessly and without fear to keep the lights on for customers around the world. They sacrifice time with their families to work around the clock 24/7/365 to deliver the necessity we all rely on – power.

LCEC is Southwest Florida’s Electric Cooperative providing reliable, cost-competitive electricity to members throughout the region. The LCEC headquarters are in North Fort Myers, Florida, the same location where the cooperative originated in 1940. Approximately 430 skilled employees are positioned throughout the six-county service territory, including Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Sanibel/Captiva, Pine Island, Ussepa, Cabbage Key, Marco Island, Everglades City, Ave Maria, and parts of Lehigh Acres.
