Even though it’s so hot these days, our VFW Post 4174 is so busy with so many activities, projects and meals that there’s barely room on our calendar to list everything.  To keep up with us, you need to either stop in or give us a call.  We are located at 25 S. Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres and our number is 239-369-5100.

We are still collecting items for the schools in our neighborhood, there is a new Bowling league getting ready to form up, we are trying something new in the form of a game night with different board games on our tables, and now that we are smoke free, more people are beginning to discover us!

Even with all the current happenings, we still have our Monday Night Show Me the Money game, Wednesday meals and entertainment, Thursday night regular Bingo, a Friday dinner with more entertainment and Saturday has different activities going on all the time.  The 2nd and fourth Saturdays are when the fun Hillbilly Bingo games are played.

On Saturday, the 31st, there will be a Lil Mixed Up and an exciting Rib Cook off.  But, there’s more to come!  Not only will there be a bowling tournament complete with prizes for only a $10 entry fee, several people are doing a potato salad contest.  Also, a challenge for a cartwheel tournament has been issued and sign ups are already beginning.   The judging will start at 3:00 p.m. with the delicious  dinner to follow.

Don’t forget, football season isn’t that far off and Saturdays all the different tv sets will be tuned to the many college games and come Sundays, it will be Pro football after our famous breakfast is over.  We like to have fun and invite our neighbors to join us on any given day.

But, don’t think we are neglecting our committees for the betterment of our community.  If you are interested in any of these activities, we can always use the help of volunteers and welcome anyone with a big smile!  Our Post, Auxiliary, Riders, DAV and CTS always find time to complete any of the tasks that have been agreed upon by the various organizations.

If you’re looking for a great place to go, stop in and get to know us.  You’ll be glad you did!
