Letter from Susan Allen of Alva
Amanda Cochran for Lee County Commission District Five
I enthusiastically endorse Amanda Cochran for Lee County Commission, District Five.
My husband and I moved from Northern Virginia to Alva, Florida, nearly five years ago. We lived among horse farms and vineyards. Due to our county’s poor management, our scenic countryside morphed into another crowded suburb of Washington, DC. Wanting to escape traffic and crowding, we chose Alva for its rural, quiet lifestyle. Soon after arriving, we discovered that East Lee County was experiencing massive density increases and a commission that was rubber-stamping development at an alarming rate, including a 1,000-home development behind our rural property. Amanda Cochran was immediately seen as a leader for the cause of well-thought-out strategic growth and a thoughtful vision for Lee County at large.
Amanda is a woman of faith who believes in servant leadership. She believes our local leaders should represent their constituents, not their self-interest. She is an ethical conservative voice in a sea of establishment bureaucrats. Her time serving on the Alva Strong board and community groups demonstrated that she is a fierce investigator of the facts and has extensive knowledge of the county. She advocates stewardship of the environment, our river, and our wildlife. Most importantly, she listens and acts.
Her Neighbors in District 5 overwhelmingly support her run for office and respectfully ask all districts to support and vote for Amanda Cochran because sprawl hurts us all!
